Through the study of Earth’s ecology and the promotion of spiritual awakening, it will help people understand the interconnectedness of all life. The University for Life and Peace will initiate interdisciplinary collaboration among the natural sciences, social science, humanities and religions. By establishing a common ground of mankind, we can investigate and study in-depth solutions on restoring planet Earth to a balanced and optimal state. This institute is designated for the welfare of planet Earth.

Life and Peace University is a university built for the Earth. The life of the Earth is an interconnected whole, yet today, we face severe ecological destruction—global warming, environmental pollution, unrest in human hearts leading to war and nuclear weapons testing, leaving Mother Earth deeply wounded. Around the world, extreme weather disasters such as blizzards and hurricanes occur more frequently. These disasters are not mere coincidences but are closely linked to ecological imbalance.
To ensure the sustainability of both the Earth and humanity, Master Hsin Tao founded Life and Peace University with the guiding philosophy of “Love the Earth, Love Peace.” This university promotes the principles of diverse coexistence and interdependent survival, envisioning a community of life where one aspect focuses on in-depth research to restore the Earth’s ecological health, while another aspect utilizes education to nurture seeds of peace, ensuring that every learner at Life and Peace University becomes an ambassador of love and harmony.
Life and Peace University is based in Myanmar, establishing a center dedicated to advancing the mission of loving the Earth and peace. The university and graduate programs will be located in Yangon, complemented by the Novice Monastery in Nong Man, basic education programs for primary and secondary schools, and a natural organic eco-tourism farm that supports local Burmese farmers. Furthermore, the university's comprehensive development plan includes a Cultural and Religious Museum, an International Meditation Center, a Guanyin Temple, the Great Golden Stupa, a hospital and medical facilities, and various charitable initiatives. These projects will serve as a global model for the Love the Earth, Love Peace movement, inspiring people worldwide.

The Venerable Dharma Master Hsin Tao is the founding abbot of Ling Jiou Mountain Buddhist Society; the founder of the Museum of World Religions (MWR) and the Global Family for Love and Peace (GFLP).
Born in 1948 in Lashio, Myanmar, Master Hsin Tao lost his parents at the age of four. Deprived and helpless, the young boy experienced an unimaginable hardship. At the age of nine in 1957, he joined the guerrilla warfare. Amidst a wartorn homeland and orphaned childhood, Master Hsin Tao witnessed the brutality of war and life. The hope for peace flared in his mind. When he was thirteen year old, the young teen arrived in Taiwan with a troop of Nationalist Government.
At the age of twenty-five, Master Hsin Tao took ordination for higher spiritual pursuit. To realize the truth of living and dying, he left the monastery for a solitude retreat that lasted for over a decade. From the ascetic practice, Master Hsin Tao realized the universal quality and shared root of all beings. The key to the ultimate peace is a peaceful mind. In 1984, he founded the Wu Sheng Monastery of Ling Jiou Mountain in Fulong, Taiwan. He has been disseminating Dharma with the spirit and essence of “Compassion & Chan” since. By “Love Earth, Love Peace”, Master Hsin Tao strives in all kinds of activities of peace.

“Love and Peace” has always been the core subject for Master Hsin Tao. He believes that religion assumes the responsibility and functionality in promoting peace and humanity. Together, we depend on one another and thrive as oneness. “Love and Compassion” is the universal trait of all faiths that connects everyone. Peace is then attainable.
In 1991, Master Hsin Tao began the planning of the Museum of World Religions (MWR). The vision of this museum is a platform of interfaith exchange and peace promotion. “Respect for all faiths. Tolerance for all ethnics. Love for all life .” This is the message he delivers to the world. With the accumulated support and aspiration from many sponsors and students, the MWR opened on November 9th, 2001. Leaders and representatives across different religions worldwide came to this remarkable and pivoting event.
