This video features Dharma Master Hsin Tao, Founding Abbot of Ling Jiou Mountain and the University for Life and Peace, in a praying session for Climate Change on Earth Day 2020. It is a production by the invitation of the PoWR (the Parliament of the World's Religions).

In this video, he will talk about the cause and effects of climate change, his hopes for the Earth and lives on Earth, what he feels we should do, and actions that he has carried out to save the Earth. Finally, he ends off with a prayer for Earth and humankind.

Why the earth is sick

-Primarily due to the use of technology that causes the discharge and emission of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Effect of the climate change 

-Global warming and a lot of natural disasters.
-Broken ozone caused temperature rise in many countries.
-The originally four separate seasons has become vague, and this has caused many species to be unable to survive
-If the earth’s temperature does not reduce by 2030, Dharma Master Hsin Tao’s understanding is that the earth can no longer be saved
Master Hsin Tao reminds us that no one is outside of this phenomena.

Hopes for Earth and lives on Earth

-Reach a consensus of the crisis on the earth and about the health of the earth
-To take care of this crisis and realize that this is a common home for everyone so that the temperature can come down and the snow will no longer melt in the North and South Poles, and species can be saved. 

What we should do 

- Cooperation among all religions, politics, academic sectors, commercial sectors to collectively promote the movement that is called “Global Loving Earth Movement”
-Good governance for the environment
-Good sense of ethics toward the ecological system, understand that the ecological system is mutually dependent with mutual aid or assistance for others, including human beings

Actions Dharma Master Hsin Tao is carrying out to save the Earth

-Building a University for Life and Peace to promote the teaching of this ethical, ecological theory and knowledge as well as to promote good environmental governance 
-Promote the Love Earth Movement (in the hope that human beings know that earth is a common home to everyone, so that everyone can come together to the consensus, that we do have a crisis on the Earth) 
-Call upon all religious leaders, political leaders, academic sectors, and commercial sectors to work together to build a healthy Earth once again and to reduce the disasters 

Prayer for the Earth and humankind

The Earth is a common area for all human beings; prayers for the Earth to be safe and healthy, to be sustainable and for human beings to be able to sustain and be safe, carefree and peaceful.
